Our Projects
The Labor Response Community (LRC) executes a multifaceted portfolio of community support projects focused on economic resilience, disaster preparedness, and workforce development. These initiatives include mobile food distributions coupled with union job referrals, comprehensive disaster response training such as the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, job fairs that connect individuals with union employers and local resources, and financial education workshops. Through these programs, LRC actively works to enhance the well-being of unemployed and underemployed union families and community members across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
Mobile Food Distributions and Union Job Referrals

Labor Solidarity Pantries: We address immediate need while attacking its root cause by providing Union Job Referrals to family-sustaining careers.
LRC organizes mobile food distributions to provide nutritional support to community members. Uniquely integrated into this service are union job referrals, offering participants direct pathways to employment opportunities as part of a holistic approach to combating food insecurity and underemploymen
Disaster Response (CERT)
Activating Labor's First Responders: We connect skilled union members to their city's CERT programs, empowering them to use their professional skills to protect their communities on and off the job.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program empowers communities through disaster preparedness training and neighborhood-level response coordination. We actively collaborate with local CERT initiatives to strengthen community resilience while expanding access to vital emergency response education. Our comprehensive CERT training equips both union members and community residents with essential skills in disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, fire safety, and team organization. By fostering these partnerships and delivering hands-on instruction, we cultivate prepared citizens capable of supporting professional responders during emergencies, ultimately building safer, more self-reliant communities.
2026 schedule is still being planned. As dates are finalized, they will be posted here and on the events calendar.

IE Disaster Hub
Currently in development, Labor Response Community in collaboration with the Southern California Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (SoCalCOSH) is utilizing a $1,000,000.00 award from the State of California's Catalyst Thrive Grant Funds to establish the Inland Empire Disaster Hub (IEDH). This hub is not a single facility but a coordinated network of organizations, each operating from different locations and contributing unique skillsets, services, and supplies. The IEDH functions as a unified, centralizing system for storing and deploying emergency resources, training community volunteers, disseminating critical information, and organizing multi-agency response and recovery efforts. This collaborative model ensures a resilient and prepared community across the Inland Empire in the face of life or environmental disasters.
Job Fairs
Building a Unionized Workforce: We directly connect our community to union employers offering fair wages, benefits, and a voice on the job.
